On February 14, 2000, a port of Half life was announced on the Sega Dreamcast. It was developed by Gearbox Software and Captivation Digital Laboratories. The port was supposed to introduce a new exclusive Blue Shift mission package, as well as improved visuals. It was also planned to release a second disc, which would allow you to play a multiplayer game using the capabilities of the SegaNet service. It was also planned to include the addition of Half-Life: Opposing Force with the multiplayer modes Deathmatch and Capture the Flag and a single-player campaign as a bonus, as well as the game Team Fortress Classic, a special version of Counter-Strike and one or more popular multiplayer modifications for Half-Life.During the development and advertising campaign, the release date of Half-Life on the Dreamcast was repeatedly postponed. Initially, the release was planned for the summer of 2000, but with the release of the second trailer of the port was moved to September. In late August, when the Blue Shift mission Suite was announced for the game, the release shifted to November 1. For several months, it was rumored that the Half-Life port on the Dreamcast was canceled, and on June 15, 2001, Sierra's publishing company confirmed this in a press release: "Sierra regrets the cancellation of Half-Life on Dreamcast, which occurred due to a change in market conditions."
But the history of the port does not end there. In 2003, the public was presented with its last build, number 1672.
