Black Mesa Source alpha

I believe leaked "alpha 5 and alpha 6" are one in the same.  Everyone did not know what version the leaked one is. I have an untouched archive from 2006. it has an empty folder called Alpha 6 documents but the game info says alpha 5.  I believe Black Mesa Source was only leaked once and they were released as alpha 5 and 6 since people were not sure of the version.  The "BMS_alpha5" you found is not untouched it has changes made in September 16. 2012.  From what i can tell it is the exact same as the original on our site with a few files removed and a map compiled in the mapsrc folder.

Just means the guy He got it from gave him alpha 6 and called it 5.

i still don't understand how multiple people got the name wrong,look at the internet,there amout of black mesa  alpha 5 videos (and even cscuritiba put both alpha 5 and 6 to download) that sounds very strange to me.

also i forget to mention (sorry) your theory was my frist idea in my first search (2012) but i quickly dismissed,beacuse how much people (and not try to fix the tittle) would forget the bms stating alpha 6 those videos were published in 2008 and 2009,but yeah i believe in what you said a little,but still for me there's some much contradictions on this history, i'm still confused wether i should believe in your ''theory'' or not... for me,this is over i dont wanna talk about this topic anymore, i have better things to ask and respond on this forum.

hello, so i downloaded the black mesa source alpha but i have no idea how to use it, even sourcemod dosent work, if anyone can help me it would be appreciated

oh, im sorry, im new to the forums but my situation is, i downloaded it, but i dont know what to do with the file. i put it in sourcemods but it didnt work.

Ok. Do you have any of the Source SDK Base versions installed in Steam? They are required for the alpha to run [I don't exactly remember which version]. Also, did you unpack the downloaded file? The file is archived in a .rar format to reduce size and has to be unpacked before use.

Yes, you have to download it. I think the 2007 or 2013 version is the one needed [Since the original version of the alpha had problems with Steampipe, this one is fixed.] If you need more help PM me directly since I don't think the Mods are too fond of us using the wrong section.
