In Half-Life 2 their are a many of minor Resistance and Refugee members like Manhack Matt. What about in the beta? I know in maps like c17_01 their was a Gasmask citizen moving barrels with a hand trick (has no dialogue and just stand still) and a Gasmask citizen was to either being talked to by a Combine Guard (Human) or the Combine Guard would talk to him. (They're both standing next to eachother. It reall is unknown. I know in the 2003 beta of the game there are a few but I don't know their names and don't have much video of them. If anyone can help thanks

If anyone can help thanks Since HL2 itself was not worked out in small details in 2001-2002 and even in 2003, there were not so many minor characters, but they were still present. These are the minor charachers that I remember:1.Group of conscripts advancing to Captain Vance - this group was heading to Captain Vence's headquarters in an armored personnel carrier, but an enemy sniper hit it with bazzoka, so they had to quickly evacuate from it, and then hide from the sniper. Gordon arrived at the scene, where the commander in chief said that he, along with another soldier, Menwich, would neutralize the sniper. Menvich turned out to be too nervous a man, and rushed to kill the sniper on the breach, for which he was punished, so he himself had to go to the sniper, hiding from him behind the obstacles. Having crossed to the other end of the street, he went into an APC, where he met another wounded conscript who told him to neutralize a sniper with a bazooka, and then call for help from doctors. (map sniper_029; 2001 US Skyscrapers Era)2. Johanson - He is mentioned on the Borealis by Odell when he entered Borealis with Gordon. He was likely to be dead with the rest of the crew when Gordon and Odell were to reach the ship. (map ai_guide; 2002 Mid European Era)3. Combine Overwatch Squad in Palace - After Alyx's speech to Gordon and her being taken away, the player was to hear an Overwatch Soldier squad being deployed in the area to investigate the crash, talking through radios with normal human voices. Before leaving with captured Alyx on a helicopter, the squad leader was to order the remaining two Overwatch Soldiers to search the building's upper decks and work their way down to the lower floors. During their search they were to discuss Alyx talking to someone below before being taken away, her and Gordon crashing with "Rebel chopper" (instead of the earlier C-130), the possibility of finding Rebel weapons in the building (reportedly used as a cache by the Underground, and with an indirect reference to the Brickbat) or in the crashed chopper, and possibly keep them to themselves despite the weapons being forbidden contraband. While talking, they were to be interrupted by a noise supposedly made by Gordon, then look for a way to reach the location of the noise and use explosives to blow up the rubble obstructing their path. Right after that, it seems they were to find themselves facing Gordon. (2001-2002 Early European Era)4. Eccentric in a Quarrytown - When Ravenholm was just a little Quarrytown, instead of Father Gregory, we had to meet an eccentric who would help us fight off zombies by throwing Molotov cocktails at them, all from the roofs of buildings. Since the quarry town itself consists of one map, this character can be minor. (2001 US Skyscrapers Era)5. A citizen in the canals of an abandoned city 17 - we should have met him when we wandered through the channels of an abandoned city 17. He lived in a makeshift "house" made of pallets, iron sheets, wooden sticks, etc. Not many information is known about this character, and what he should have told us, but probably it is an early version of Manhack Matt.
