Some person decided to take the time to write in the comments on YouTube all the differences between the May 20, 2002 build and the September 26, 2003 build of Half-Life. I decided to forward this here because it might be useful to someone.

A few more notes from myself:
1. When bullets fly past the player, "nearmiss" sounds are used instead of "bulletLtoR" in the weapons/fx/nearmiss folder, but this is only when the Combine Soldiers shoot, when the Gunship shoots, they are absent.
2. The pistol reload sound reuses the SMG2 one.
3. Combine use sounds from npc/combine_soldier/test folder, but the death sound is similar to the sound from npc/combine_soldier.
4. The sound of burning fire in Borealis and streetwars is reused from HL1.
5. The wade footstep sound is also reused from HL1.
6. The metrocop death sounds are different (played when the APC falls; btw all the 2000 sounds of the metrocops were rewritten, all that is left of them is npc/metropolice/alert sounds).
7. There are no pl_shell sounds.

Don't like HL2 beta actually. But the visualization is pretty cool tho.

Here's what I think is different but I'm probably wrong.
1. The explosion with the barrel doesn't explode and jumpscare only when you get close to it in Ravenholm. Why? https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=1615
2. OICW has this sick rebolt animation. https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=713
3. The blue barrel has grim on it. https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=728 https://hl2-beta.ru/index.php?topic=28282.msg39702#msg39702
(gasmask citizen is actually just weird lighting, repository is this conspiracy I rely on to explain anything strange as it's weird, even though I never had properly used a repo or know what it is, it's not that weird probably. I might be schizophrenic, but the end justifies the means and it's progress.)
4. I don't think he has a fist or uses his fist in the leak. https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=1426
5. The black hole particle for the Striders, maybe. https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=1130
6. The hell is this? Citadel plug? The e3_terminal Citadel had wires. https://youtu.be/8CoMdbnJwvE?t=1297
I remember seeing this prop in a modpack.

Disregard all of this by the way. This is all stolen from a mod.

A few corrections:
1. The sound of burning fire in Borealis and streetwars is used from the ambient/fire folder in HL2 Beta, there is no fire sound in HL1 !special
2. The wood footstep and metal impact sounds can be found in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes files.
3. The interaction of objects with water is less detailed (there are no splash sounds and decals when falling into water)

All the Half-Life 1 and 2 prototypes (especially the Half-Life 2: Episode Three prototype that featured the Blobs and what not) and unused assets will need to released, in order to be archived and preserved online at some point, for history's sake. Because think about it, all this will not only benefit those who love playing prototype versions alongside the release versions, but also the three other camps. The first camp are essentially those who run wikis that document prototypes and unused content in games (like The Cutting Room Floor Wiki), and they detail everything on what wouldn't have possibly been seen before during the WIP stages of the games in question. The two other camps, obviously, is the Garry's Mod community in terms of addon making, but also the Half-Life community as a whole. Just imagine how great that would be... that is why we as a community, have to collectively ask for them all. I know for a fact New Blood Interactive did the same thing with DUSK and its unused stuff, in terms of putting the prototypes and unused content within the goodies folder.
