what is the earliest build ever (that we have)?

The reason why i'm asking this is mainly because i am very interested in seeing how the game turned from Gold Source to Source 1. Not like, the earliest build EVER, no, that crap is most likely never going to see the light of day. More or so like, the laggy physics shown that one time in the e3 2002 demo.. and stuff like that.

the only build I can think of is the 2000 build which they were still working on stuff which I also thing they were changing some stuff after there original idea would be the air was toxic though I could be wrong.

still that's the build i think its the most earliest that we probably have. (maybe)

We don't have the 2000 build, nor do we know if Valve has it. Footage during 20th anniversary was from old videos.

The oldest build Valve has documented having is the 2002 build they showcased during the 20th anniversary. But the oldest build WE have is still the 2003 leak.

More or so like, the laggy physics shown that one time in the e3 2002 demo.. and stuff like that.

Pretty sure the "laggy physics" is just a byproduct of demo playback and not a showcase of how physics were in the build.

aside from some leaks that we got from either valve themselves or other people, the only build that WE have that is accessible is the leaked 2003 beta, all older ones like 2000, 2001, and 2002, are just modified versions of the leaked 2003 beta as there has not been a build given to the public that is older then 2003.
