Half-Life 2 Beta General Technical Problems

Whenever i go out of the window of HL2, i will always find it stuck on the loading screen but i can change my weapons and possibly walk.

Whenever I try to play Half life 2 beta, The new game button doesent let me start a new game. It shows the options of dificulty but when I choose and press play it doesent do anything.

Yeah, you better not minimize the game when in fullscreen mode.
If you wish to be able to minimize make sure you launch beta with Mod Launcher with the launch options mentioned in this post.

Did that, but when i click Start its a fine windowed loading screen, but then it says Engine Error, unable to set mode. How do i fix this?

Hmm, maybe try launching it in Windows XP compatibility mode?

Thanks, but one more thing. Game menu is running fine and all, but whenever i try to load in a map, it doesnt react and work. What do i do? this could be the final thing

How do you load it? Make sure you run the map with a console command
map map_name

In game's main menu open "Options" and in "Mouse" check the "Mouse look" box.

Hi there!
When I load a map (Everyone is like this), I always pop up "No Map Found". I confirmed that it was opened with the console. Both versions are like this. Is there a solution?

my footsteps dont play when im walking. they only play when im running, jump, land from a jump or walk sideways. walking sideways causes a single footstep to play.

I have a graphical bug in beta. In some places weapon glows in dark. Is there any fix of this problem?

One thing I need to mention: Maybe this problem is caused because I play on virtual machine (I use MacBook with Parallels Desktop installed on it)

source particle benchmark: i have the problem  that is it crashes all the times but i tried the bat. and the exe., and appear a  mensage saying "plataform error: Module Failed to initialiaze" it appear's in both and i still dont have the anwser(i am posting this here because it looks like NO ONE NEVER See the aftermath topic )

For some reason the game crashes on map load in the 2003 Fixed Storyline by XJR9000 In the leaknet launcher

I used megabuild 5.0

I've saw youtubers play XJR9000's 2003 storyline fix and they did not get a crash on the maps that i get a crash on. So i am genuinely confused on what is going on.

okeeeeee so apparantely. this doesnt only happen to the 2003 fixed storyline version. I am pretty sure it happens on like every version of the megabuild.
