[Tutorial] How to fix beta maps

 !rolleyes Now I want to know how can I make npc_sniper shoot specific places in retail HL2?
I`m fixing sniper_029 and npc_bullseye doesn`t work if the script is straight from the Beta. :(

I've recently have been using hammer and when I add a light_environment into my map, fullbright is always on regardless of what light entity I put is there a solution to this?

Is there a leak in the map?

If you go under the "Map" tab in Hammer and press load pointfile, you will see if there's a .lin file that goes with your map. If there is one then the issue is a leak in the map.

To patch it, just patch up whatever hole that's in your map (or if it's an entity that's outside the map.)

Ok how do I patch it up?

To patch it up, just follow the red line to the void and see were the gap in the map is (like you showed in your 2nd screenshot.)

Then from there make a brush that patches/blocks that hole (or many) completely from having any openings into the void.

is there just a download link for the already compiled maps? since its pretty tedious to compile the maps one by one and check whats wrong to fix it.

Yes, I can't find the original source anymore (it was on moddb somewhere,) but someone compiled everything in the WC mappack.

I used to host a mirror to it on a video (that has been unlisted for 7 years now.)

Anyway, here's the download link: Mediafire (Just ignore the anon-hl2 folder in there)
