So, I'm trying to play the beta on a Windows XP machine with - and I checked using dxdiag - DirectX 9.0c. Like the subject says, it won't let me load non-dx60 maps, other than the single map which was made for DX60. I have tried adding "-dxlevel90" to the shortcut, but it still gives me the same error. I think this can be fixed by switching the rendering engine from OpenGL to Direct3D but I don't know how this can be done. I found two threads relating to this error, but both were in Russian and both were solved using the "-dxlevel90" trick. So now I have no idea what to do.

have you tried
Code: [Select]
-dxlevel 90 instead of
Code: [Select]
-dxlevel90? That's how the valve wiki says it should be done https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Mat_dxlevel

Just tried that, no difference. Like I said before, I think it *might* have something to do with the rendering type.
