Hl2 retail required?

This is something I have wonderd for a long time. Do you need Retail HL2 for the Megapatch and Leak.net? Since I downloaded Megapatch after I got HL2 I had everything. If I got it and didn't have HL2 would I have missing textures and errors?
I don't like lag or game bugs. If I encouter a bug or glitch I would attack someone with my Stun Batton!

Nope. Leaknet and the Megapatch is only for HL2 Beta. Unless you wan't to break the retail game. You also don't need any of the assets from Retail HL2.
