Hello!

I've gathered some more pictures that can be added and/or updated for the Real World Prototype Gallery.
I'll be posting them in the replies of this discussion from time to time if I find anything. You're welcome to do so aswell. 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧: So, little thing about the compact car (car001a_hatchback & car001b_hatchback) from both the retail and leak is there's been quite a debate about whether the car is supposed to be modeled after a Volkswagen Golf or a Yugo. I can definitely see the resemblance to both vehicles, but in my opinion, overall the car resembles a 5-door Toyota Starlet from multiple years ranging around 1980. Such as the roof and doors, the wheels, and the taillights and indicators on the front bumper on the leak model.
Obviously the proportions are a little out of whack, but they're like that on all HL2 car models.
The retail model's taillights seem to be incorrectly textured, as the reverse lights appear on the side of the taillights rather than in the very back. No indication from behind that the car could be backing up.

Here is the APC from retail. I'd say it'd be justified to add it to the gallery anyway, since it's also present in leak.
In fact, the APC it's self is only used once in Half-Life 2, and never seen again. I've got a feeling this APC was never actually meant to appear in the retail game. Valve just seemingly never bothered to remove it from the map or replace it with the Combine APC. It looks very out of place.

Here's an image of an actual Trabant 601 Universal that car002a and car002b were modeled after. The image currently up on the website is the standard model and not the station wagon model, and this photo shows the front and side of the car. It also has that awkwardly placed mirror like on the leaked model, unlike the retail model.

The headlights on the prison bus from the beta could've been taken off a 2001 International FE school bus, meanwhile the rest of the bus looks fictional. However the overall shape looks like it could've been inspired from an International S Series school bus from the 1980s. I wouldn't say the prison bus is based on anything specific.

Beta City 17 props.
The image of the double parking meter is the actual texture source!!

The trick for me finding both the parking meter and fire hydrant was simply typing in "Seattle Washington"
(a.k.a. Valve HQ's location) and then the object into Google. The parking meter texture is miraculously one of the first results that shows up in the search!

I wasn't even trying to find the original image used by Valve, because frankly the odds of finding a texture source are stacked against me. I guess this proves the odds are never zero though.
