I managed to convert the beta models for the citadel and lamppost into retail and they successfully show up in retail. But the textures are not working as seen in the screenshot

The citadel shows up hazy no matter where I place or even not place the texture. Anyone know what could be causing this issue for the citadel?

The lamppost models are lamppost04a_on and lamppost04a_off but there are no vtf files corresponding to that one. The model shows up textured in the beta Hammer. Can someone help me figure out where the textures are for this model?

Edit: I got the citadel to show up correctly in a Hammer map I made but the texture still doesn't show up in the game maps.

No offence but what a clueless advice. And how would that help?

What you need, OP, is to locate the Citadel texture vmt and add $nofog 1 to it. That'll remove the haze. That's how HL2's Citadel is set up.

You can open the .mdl file with Notepad++ and scroll all the way down to the very very end and it'll have the texture paths.
The very last bit of text in it says models/props_c17/ so that's the folder. Before that you can see the words,

"lamp"
and
"glass2"

(also before that "Body" and "idle" but that's not textures)

So you need to go to the beta (actually the Mega Build or beta w/ Megapatch 4 installed, because those models were fan-made and restored in megapatch 4), and indeed it has lamp.vtf (dark metal) and glass2.vtf (blurry bluish round glass) and you can copy those (+ their vmts) over to your mod and it should work now.

Perfect. I remember reading about that no fog thing on Gamebanana but didn't know what exactly to change. Also good to know how to find the textures a model uses. Should help identify other in future. Thanks, Cvoxalury!
