I created this thread because some of my mappacks are not in the downloads section and not everyone had dl links for them. So far I fixed and released many maps from all HL2 eras we had VMFs from, except for 2002 era (Toast the Fox
did an excellent job fixing these maps instead of me).
All of these mappacks have fixed maps from the different development eras folders of the sorted
WC mappack. Each mappack contains:
-Storyline maps, including some with several revisions
-Various maps made because of boredom, jokes, or multiplayer battles between Valve developers
-Test maps where they checked the functionality of various game features, such as AI and physics
-Various internal demonstration maps
To launch the maps in game:
Open console (~) and put: "map *maps name* " (without the quotes or stars)
You can check 'Maps List.txt' file, located in the main folder of each mappack for full maps list.
I also have added key binds for some console commands:
"i" give all weapons that are known to exist during development era you're playing.
"j" For cycling through dialogue on maps with Alyx, Barney, Kliener, etc.
"b" for noclip.
"n" for notarget.
2001 Mappack
Storyline-related maps gameplay video
Download linkThis mappack contains the majority of Half-Life 2 maps that were made in early-mid 2001, fixed for the Half-Life 2 Beta. It has 168 maps. Now that we have a lot of new texture and models remakes, hopefully I will make a new version of it some time in the future.
2001-2002 Mappack
Storyline-related maps gameplay video
Download linkThis mappack has most of Half-Life 2 maps that were made in late 2001 - early 2002 in fixed form. It has 118 maps in total. Same as 2001 mappack, hopefully some time in the future I will make a new version of it with the use of all texture and model remakes.
2002 Mappack
I still haven't fixed maps from this era. You can download
2002 mappack made by Toast the Fox instead.
2002-2003 Mappack
Download linkIn this mappack you will find maps that were made in late 2002 - early 2003. It was pretty interesting development era, as Valve had implemented proper "cabals" structure in their team and began intense game development. It has 190 maps in total.
2003 Mappack
Download linkThis mappack contains Half-Life 2 maps that were made roughly at the time Valve were preparing for E3 presentation and couple of months after it. It is relatively small mappack and only has 94 maps in total.
In conclusion, by downloading these mappacks you can play 570 fixed Half-Life 2 beta maps. If you count Toast's 2002 mappack it will be 743 maps. And if you add
XJR9000's september 2003 storyline mappack you will have 805 fully fixed playable HL2 beta maps, wow.
