why didn't they include an early 2004 build in the mega build 2024?

(because it is almost the same as the original game?)

All you can run in Mega Build are modifications that seek to recreate the old versions. We don't have detailed information on the Half-Life 2 version from early 2004, other than a trailer and a few screenshots, so it's not here.

I dont think it would be needed. Maybe there were a few different models or textures. But its not interesting.

im pretty sure its nearly just regular half-life 2 with a low polygon count, the game was rushed in 2004 for release when it was originally leaked a year earlier, so its almost just the same? tho if you still want the same engine as it, just download early versions of CS:Source, the game released before half-life 2 and also early versions use the early 2004 engine, like the september 2004 beta and the regular one on this website.
