In the anniversary video, the gasmask citizen has grim on their pants, the water barrel has dirt on them. What is this INSANITY!??! We have even earlier unfinished backups of it, I think. They edited it
but didn't save it in the repo. Do they not have layers?

Marc just updated the description of his gyftv vid (he seemingly has updated it a lot) and now has a link to a sub stack about the dark and griddy things LINK

im wondering, in siggraph 2000 we see that demo arctic map that was theorized to be very old and i also see few otheres (are all from the vid in leak btw, or at least newer versions of them), and has finally been confirmed, but im wondering, if valve never converted VMFs from older then december 2000 then why is it in leak, could this mean they did convert some very old VMFs, or is it something else?

it was just weird lighting reflecting, not grim. water barrel in e3 2002. i wonder if they like used motion capture. something not right with how alyx modelled.

Differences:
1. Crab synth looks different and is like the concept art. https://youtu.be/wU4yPEFXzo0?t=700 (probably remodelled because it was a static model they couldn't find a way to animate, like what the guy in the vid- whiteboard art reflect this change as the legs are shorter
2. Different textures for demo_arctic.
3. Early Strider but with a different cannon. (why they made it so amateur and look like a penis after this? thank god they went back. I guess remodelling to animate it, but what there's to animate? doesn't follow concept art. they loved taking creative liberties for the synths.)
4. Metrocop has a baton, I guess as if you may as well make them something like you did for gasmask citizens molotovs (Maybe just his long finger for gun like seen elsewhere? OR due to the archive rotting or something as you see black spaces appear) https://youtu.be/wU4yPEFXzo0?t=53
5. The unfinished SMG2 (poor scope) with no hands. Grip folded. Wonder if it's this: https://combineoverwiki.net/images/1/11/John_Grimm_SMG2.jpg

What the hell is wrong with their shoulders? Why is this a issue in the leak? https://youtu.be/wU4yPEFXzo0?t=698

It's kinda lame IMO they couldn't just release it whenever or whatever, needed all this shit to happen. It'd be cooler to have the source file too. In a perfect world Valve would stop being pansies (it's not like they're stealing their IP lol, they even give it to people and sell it to people lol, they have a repository for a reason. What's their concern? Royalties? Fucking normies is why they're like this) and release everything. At least it's not a snippet of their video.

Are you high on crack? I haven't seen anything yet that proves otherwise, but I doubt Valve has anything related to the SIGGRAPH 2000 Demo file wise. That shit can get lost easily, and there is no reason to save builds like that.

I just wish Marc Laidlaw and them released this earlier. I know it's because it's the anniversary but imagine if they were willing to release all this stuff earlier. They always rely on events or gmails to do anything, sounds like horrible way to do production as a company. I mention the repo because I want them leak it BUT I thought the E3 2002 and E3 2003 were builds, but nah high quality like that been possible since forever probably (it's only 1080p), it just wasn't supported by most, that's just videos they kept to use at conventions, I wonder what guy had this saved. So yeah they're archives. They basically are leaking stuff anyways, so what's the gig? I think it's fear and weakness.

And the photos they show are probably all taken for the new Raising The Bar. They didn't put effort at all for this specific documentary. Wait, maybe that means SOMEONE has the uncorrected proof of it (it's coming out in 2025). Let's hope someone at Secret Tape leaks it. (probably the editor, who's making the new RTB? Is it Prima? I mean they wrote the original book but it's not their copyright probably) If that's true, than Half-Life: 25th Anniversary Documentary shows the new Raising The Bar too. RTB is a badly made book. Do they have to rewrite the whole god damn book because of Prima or are they chill? I wish it's not even a book anyways, because the pages and resolution resulted in things getting cut in RTB. RTB was made digitally, they even gave you a preview of it, they should contact Prima to release RTB digitally as I'm curious to editing it to see what's hidden in the pages. Why didn't they release RTB as an ebook? Guess it was just too big. All of the strategy guides and manuals are EBOOKS.

I wonder if someone have those E3 2004 videos.

That another thing that disappoints me. They're boring, they don't go in cool detail about the background. I wanna know where they found this video and what employee leaked it. If you wanna see the background, it's not in the documentary or their release of it, but scattered around on the internet. But like a whole point of a documentary is to document everything, not just show stuff with footage of interviews. RTB cites a lot of interviews but there's no proof, they paraphrase them. Secret Tape has a way to SHOW PROOF of INTERVIEWS if they recorded them.

Are these documentaries just an over-glorified advert for RTB? I know it's because of the years. I hope they get Geoff Keighley, but unlike articles, RTB is a book that does citations. I'm interested to see those two writing styles combined. I'm curious to where the hell Geoff Keighley got his information from.

Imagine being Prima and these guys at Valve want you to make a whole documentary, your company is for making strategy books, that's why they were contacted by Valve. And they give you all this shit that they took with their fucking snap camera in the 2000's, and it's also like outdated repo shit like too or earlier builds of HL2. I feel bad for Prima. Not only that, people think it's 2004 because of the copyright year.  That's actually braindead on Valve's part.  I bet you they contacted them in 2004 to make HL2 strategy guide (nah that's for XBOX probably), but they gave Prima all this bullshit, that it took them until November 2005 to make it. Unless it started in 2005 and that when Prima . This makes me question reality. Is any PRIMA GAME GUIDE from 2004 actually 2004?  Valve's too lazy to make their own strategy guide or manual unlike other companies. Who made the Half Life Manual? I guess Valve for years wanted tell their story, even to strategy guides company (they make books though) and low-life IGN journalists. (they gave this guy Alyx's pistol render from HL3 in Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx, "leaks bad" my ass. See, I told you they're pussies.)

I don't think new RTB is going to be the same book and Prima Games isn't going get any money out of this, even if the name's trademarked (by Valve probably). Wait is it? I don't think there is a trademark on it, for Valve yeah, if so I wanna find when they trademark it than.

Manually extract them from the PDF in Illustrator.

For some reason, I thought Marc Laidlaw free TV video was missing footage as it's like 21 seconds but it's just a teaser.

I have a problem with my posts where a lot of my stuff are related to several topics as I go on rants.

i disagree, if they had the 2002 build in there, they very much have the 2000 build. even more when people found a prospero folder in a p4 leak back in the day.
