Portal 2 Beta "Leak"

So one guy named "eggo1" gave me a "Legit" Version of Portal 2 Beta. Now the Problem is i dont know if its really "legit" He did say it uses some Retail assets like the Grid because it had ALOT of Errors and he only fixed like.. 2? Anyways im still trying to fix it since for some reason it has mat_picmip 2 set to True the whole time and when i try to deactivate it the Game just Crashes with " "turn" not found " Im pretty sure theres nothing such as "turn" in the Retail files but in the Retail it works.. also the Lighting is off BUT thats Mostly because of the Maps... Now why i think its maybe HALF legit is that all of the maps included are from Retail and there are only like 2-3-4 Portal 2 Beta Maps.

&t=23s I just wanna point out that the Voices are in German. Please tell me if its legit. He send me a Second Version of Portal 2 Beta which was from the very Early Phase of Portal 2 beta (like after F stop) but it doesnt work and most of the maps dont even work. I managed to get one working but it was a Brick plain with a Alyx NPC on it with LOTS of crows.. That doesnt help me tho. WAOL - Fluffkin

considering a "portal 2 beta" hoax was being talked abotu i belive on the HLDiscord or gamebanana, id say this is the result. unless it is a genuine playtesting build

Update! eggo1 responded with "I found it on an old Harddrive in 2011. Back then i didnt know there was a Portal 2 Beta so i just thought it was the Normal Portal 2. Then i Noticed the Differences and had to Share it with someone and that someone is you. Either way, im going on vacation."

Also things that i noticed are different: Portal Gun, Cubes, Light bridge, Rails, Turrets. I may have Missed something. Seems pretty Legit to me but yeah i dont think its something BIG. He said there are only about 3-4 Maps on it which are dev Maps a Friend Send him but he said it looks too basic and it could be ported from the Level Editor. What i think is Like darkspire17 that its a genuine playtesting build. Probably around after the Portal 2 Demo E3 Beta was Recorded.

first of all, if its a beta, why it has the portal 2 icon and not the hl2 icon? the weird particles those can just be a re texture, the cube... its just replace the portal 2 cube with the portal 1 cube, if its a dev build, why its in german?

This is without a doubt fake, sorry not sorry
to answer stuff, there wouldnt be half-life assets, that was only portal 1 because valve wanted portal for the orange box so they couldnt make the game from scratch in the source engine,

portal 2 beta would consist of old portal 1 stuff not half-life stuff
the earliest build of portal 2 would have f-stop (for the game testers to test the gameplay mechanics)
after f-stop? okay sure whatever but there would still be differences from the retail game

Your video looks like it was made in the level editor, and yes mods exist to extend the level editer, ive even posted modded maps on the steam workshop

Whats my point in all this?
