About that cat model from HL2 repo

A fact not known by many, but in 2016, when Half-Life 2 Repo leaks occured, among others there was found strange looking model of a cat.

The model didn't have any textures or animations or even bones, only this "deformed" mesh. It's quite possible it was an internal joke by one of Valve's modelers, for example about that cat that was mentioned by Barney.

The model was never leaked in a public access and all we have is a couple of screenshots.

lamarr has existed in the story since 2001, same with the cat. i doubt valve would've made the cat kleiner's pet as they could use lamarr to show how humans have been able to domesticate the xen species

I know some dudes from Boreal Alyph claimed on VCC back in the days that it was an internal joke made by their team, but that’s not true.
People with the repo access showed me the stuff from there before info about the repo spread among the community and this cat model one of those things I saw. I guess those guys from Boreal Alyph were partly responsible for the leaks so they tried to cover up the trails that leaded to them.

ive only seen this one screenshot float around, and as youve said theres a few others so im curious, do we get to see them? or are those screenshots of private access as well?
