Hello, i currently editing a map from l4d2 called
The Sugar Mill
its the second map from the campaign
Hard Rain
. I convert this map too garrysmod with some special things like a day night cycle, multiple gamemode support etc if you are interested checkout my
workshop
This map has unused, hidden and possible beta leftover stuff.
NOTE some pictures show many errors etc inside the map editor thats just because i took the screenshots from the garrysmod editor.
There is one model on this map that has many breakable parts but it seems valve did not published them with l4d2.
Here are some fence props outside the map.

Somehow valve left a very detailed area behind the saferoom at the start.

There is a huge brush outside the map near the spawn maybe a beta leftover? or a old way from the previous map.

There are many "info_overlay" entities with missing brush faces on this map.
Near the end of that map there are two

In the mid of the map is one more.

Behind the gas station are 3 missing faces.

Two "info_overlay" faces near the spawn. (possible beta leftovers?)

Near the cornfield at the walls are multiple duplicated info_overlay entities.

After you passed the first big building valve forgot too block this position behind the fences.

Some unused / hidden stuff.
There is a pipebomb under the saferoom same exist in the previous map at the exact same position.

There are two water puddle under the map at the entrance and exit of the first building you pass if you leave the saferoom.

There are player clips outside the map near the spawn. (
pink
= player clip,
red
= clip for everyone infected, npcs etc.)
Inside the garden house next to the elevator is a unused "func_breakable" inside the brushes.

Thats it so far if i find more at this map while converting it i will post it.

Interesting stuff. Any plans on recompiling the maps with those unused overlays and decals and whatnot reimplemented into the map?

I know you! you're that guy that created physic compound for Gmod. I didn't think i would see you here.
now about the sugar mill stuff, interesting find. I didn't think Sugar Mill had that much stuff on the SDK map editor that went unused, definitely interesting.
