I-Rifle ammo issue

In the leak the I rifle uses rockets which can be changed but the other issue that I haven't found any info on is that whenever you switch weapons and go back to the I rifle it refills the ammo. I am wondering if there is any simple way to fix this (similarly to changing the ammo type)

No it's a code problem
