VRF is a Source 2 asset viewer that features the ability to recover some deleted assets. From what I read, the program works on nearly all Source 2 games, and Portal 2 for some reason (it's one of the only Source 1 games the program works with).
The Cutting Room Floor says the program can un-delete files in Portal 2 just like it can for Source 2 games, but when I tried it, all i got were hex files. TCRF shows two of the files as viewable files.
I was wondering if anyone here can help me figure out how they got the files in viewable states. I asked them, but never got a reply.

So here's what I discovered so far:

Base Game: 148 files recovered
- Some are text documents that can be opened, but they're pretty dull. Most mention fonts . A few mention GUI things. A few mentions Coop bot taunts.

DLC 1 (Peer Review): 10 files recovered
- None viewable

DLC 2 (PeTI): 32 files recovered
- None viewable

I still have no idea how to view these normally, or how to convert them, or how any of this works. Would appreciate it if someone knew what to do.

Try the earlier builds things if that possible

I can't find any early builds of Portal 2 (only one I can find is the previous build branch on Steam, and that does nothing). I've searched online everywhere, and the closest I got was an archived XBox 360 build.
