Trying to play Half Life 2 Beta on the Steamdeck OLED

Hey so I am new to this site and yes I have the Steamdeck OLED. Also I may be the first to ask this type of question and some of you people know that the Steamdeck is built in Linux, I did make my device easily launch exe files on Proton 7.0.6. I have the Megabuild installed in the Steamdeck, and I opened the modlauncher and it opened a window where it tells you which version you want to play, so I clicked on the 2002-2003 one and it went to pitch black I gave it a long enough moment and I powered it off because it felt like it's not playing it properly, turned it back on, and still the same result I hope there will be some people who are trying the same thing and knows how to make the Steamdeck properly launch it so I can know what to do since I'm pretty new with modding the steamdeck.

Hello there. I used to play it on a Mac through CrossOver and it works like a normal beta. The CrossOver itself based on Wine so I think in Wine on Linux it would work fine too. Try to use Proton as well.

I recommend using crossover. I recently had a hard drive with a USB adapter.
and I had the hl2 beta on it and I ran it with my laptop with linux and it worked and for the controls I recommend downloading "antimicro" a program that can assign a key on the keyboard to the buttons, joysticks, everything on the control. available for linux
