"The Repository"

This is a thread to study and discuss the supernatural and mysterious "repositories" by Valve.

My theory of the "repository":
Probably whatever they burned on a CD so they can boot it up as an .EXE. Then they copied this .EXE and gave it to people like Prima Games (which is why Prima Games shows repo stuff in their books).

While some people believe PelPIX got her stuff from buying it from a license ("license" is also something of note we'll discuss later),
I think it's more likely she got it from a mod team she worked with as it'd explain why the Bullsquid Shark doesn't have its texture to me.

She copied the folder they used in this mod (so they would be one of these "holders") and only kept the models folder, not the folder with the textures.

This makes it ironic that she was panicking over stuff being illegal when what she already has is probably stolen and illegal anyways.

I'm not talking about https://hl2-beta.ru/index.php?topic=29387 (although that is part of it and is helpful) but the idea, the myth of it, it's *general*.
