I am wondering why they never gave a official statement on why they stopped working on it. It looked pretty far along and had a quite reputable team behind it.

I never waited for a Steam release because i think it is unnecessary. I mean MI is nothing more than a polished and improved E3 version. What i am asking myself since the last version (1.7), is the MI-Team still alive? A release would make sense if there is still something in the forge.

shame that Valve totally dropped the ball on that title,  it's funny how they say colorful words about Half-Life when it comes to promotion like they did in Final Hours of Half-Life Alyx or at Cringe Game Awards I mean video game awards, they gave a green light to every crap, but to true fan solid content they are like: "yeah we will do something and yeah..."
