The cut character Nigel

While watching the HL2 Episode Two beta: ep2_outland_08 trainyard version over at youtube I found out about this cut unknown character named Nigel. Supposedly he was to help Gordon and Alyx get to the radio tower in game after they tell them that they have no radio. There is currently no dialogue for them at all I was just wondering if anyone has any more information of this character.

Its not on the Half-Life Fandom (Yet) I'm asking for help if anyone has any other info or images of him? The map is ep2_outland_08 from Half-Life Episode 2
