So here it is, the Manhack Arcade. Hopefully this is the last pre-gunplay street level, I almost had a "mapper's block" on this very level.

Next up, the interior of the arcade, the radio tower and probably the first sewer map.

Probably I'll release the first chapter map files when I'm done with it.

(fyi, the first chapter ends with the radio tower)

The story isn't that developed right now, so things can change.

After the first chapter (C17 Inbound), there will be the sewers level (chapter 2) and probably in the third one is the Hyperborea docked at C17 pier to go to the weather control or kraken base. I'm still not sure.

Or the next chapters will be totally different, who knows...

Today I started making the interior of the Manhack Arcade, I made a preview video of it.

I decided to mix the new arcade with the old one, so here's the result.

Ok, now, here's the part you were probably expecting - the citizen model. More like citizen's dilemma.

I know someone ported the gasmask citizen to GoldSRC, but they don't have all scientist animations (like pressing a button, switches, etc) - so I can't create many scripted sequences.

Second, they usually have one head, which lacks of any mouth animation. If I place them in a level, they would look all the same, too.

Meanwhile, the scientists have four heads with working mouth animations, but the problem is that they're just scientist, they don't have the gasmask citizens overalls, so what I did is to mix those two things.

-- please note that I'm not a modeller nor a very expert in textures so please bear with me --

"Casual" citizen, without the suit on, indoors only. Simple retexture of HL's scientist model.

"Suited" citizen. Will be used for outdoors areas. Retexture of Opfor's suit scientist.

They look ok, but they're not very good looking, but it's better than nothing... What's your opinion about this?

The mod looks great so far, but I think there should be natural blue moonlight to contrast the bright industrial colors.

He's missing an apron from the waist down.And the ID card, it is desirable to remove

But that kinda defeats the overall early Half-Life 2 atmosphere, don't you think?
Besides, the skyboxes that I'm using have buildings on it, if I would change that to a new one every skybox detail would be lost.

Yeah, it looks very bad, but I'm no modeller, I can't do that - I have to use the scientist because I started using scripted_sequences, so I need to have all scientist animations, otherwise the ambience would look very boring.

The gasmask citizen models I have found have no one of these... Unless someone handles me a good gasmask citizen model with all scientist animations, until then, I'm kinda forced to use them.

Talking about scripted_sequences, I started adding them in the game, so far I completed the Manhack Arcade, so you'll see people playing the arcades (I'm using a reskinned version of the civilian scientist of bshift) and many more.

I have started working in the streets level, and I made this little video showing the combine change of guard that will be featured in the mod.



I'm quite proud of this one. Credits to the mod "HL2 Beta minimalist" for the metrocop model. I just replaced Barney's voice with the Metrocop lines from the leak.

Wow! That's super! Thank you very much.

Sorry for the lack of updates, school started and the development is now pretty slow. I'll update this thread again when I have some materials worth showing.

Thanks to @Garompa, I finally found a decent citizen model. Thank you for helping me!
