Ok let's see.1. Patching the beta is highly recommended since the original beta is really broken and unstable. It doesn't really affect Hammer but it's still better to use a more stable experience.2. If you wan't to make maps for the beta, the beta version of Hammer is the only one that will work.3. If you want to edit existing maps you'l have to find their VMF files in the WC-Mappack. If you want to go the easy way you can just decompile them, but it may cause problems.4. No, since using the retail version of Hammer won't work. The final version of Hammer compiles maps in a way that's only compatible with retail HL2 and such.5 & 6. Hammer in the beta is unconfigured and there are steps you need to take for it to work properly. This article covers about everything to get it working. Follow it step by step and you should be fine. And if you don't like reading, at the end of that post there's a link to a video made by Toastthefox that also shows how to fix the issues.Well that's it. I think this should help."Thanks, and have fun!"
