Hello all!
I've spent some time sifting through the "oldtrans.txt" file in order to make it a bit more comprehensible. I've made the texture names all more easily read-able by removing the old names for each of them and adding notes for each texture that requires extra information (such as "wood" textures originally being "metal," textures used indoors vs outdoors, removing textures that don't have an equivalent transition name, etc.) I think this will be a useful tool for anyone interested in this incredibly early era of the game's development, as it will help you see exactly which textures were used in which levels, including places like the spire (early name for weather control) and Kraken Base.

I've also gone ahead and pieced together a texture zoo for the spire textures. I've done a short video showcasing it and the bsp and vmf are included in the thread. I hope you all get some use out of this!

Honestly this is really nice. Only beta fans can overanalyze and make a comprehensive list of assets from an era that we know almost nothing about. May be useful to some. Great job!

Eh, it wasn't all that bad. I was able to batch isolate the texture names without *too* much difficulty, so the real hard part was getting asset descriptions for some of the larger sets. The urban textures, I basically just threw a bunch of Notepad++ stuff onto until I got what I needed.

Nice work! This will be usefull for someone who'd try and make a standalone Hyper era HL2 build.
