Counter Strike Beta 1.0

Hello every time i want to play CS 1.0 beta i'm selecting map and when i see loading screen game is crashing with "Program x stopped working" this is happening all the time i want to play and when i want to open console even ! i have retail Half-Life version which is 1.1.0.8 everything else is working fine.

Are you using OpenGL as your graphics render? If so, then swich to the Software render as its stated in the install guide. Maybe then it will start working. Tell me if it did

but in any case try to look at that the mod and see if it's installed correctly or reinstall it if it's necessary.

try a newer hl version or see if your OS it's the responsible,sorry if i can't help you.

it's just hard to find any solution without an error MSG or something like that.

are you using Half-Life Game of the Year Edition?

are you talking about beta 1.0 or retail/mod 1.0? if you're running beta then you need to have hl won version 1.0.0.9

If it is release v1.0, you gotta use HL CD Rom version 1.1.0.0
If beta 1.0 all the way to beta 6.1, you gotta use HL CD Rom version 1.0.0.9 or 1.0.1.6 which is more common

You need to have at least Half-Life Patch Version 1.0.0.9 or maximum 1.0.1.6 (due to new network code in Half-Life 1.1.0.0).
