Borealis mod is released

Borealis mod is finally out and available for download!

In case if you never heard about it - it's a mod that restores Borealis chapter in a playable state for HL2 Beta. There're totally 6 maps in this mod + background map for the main menu. Specially for this mod Odell ws fully re-voiced plus many new voice lines were additionally recorded. Also the mod has some other custom content.

The development of this mod was started back in 2009 by a member of our community now known as Alfeos (if you have read changelog.txt of Mega Patch 4 you may recognize that nickname), but he ceased development of the mod back then because of how bugged the original Hl2 beta engine was. After the release of LeakNet and Mega Patch 4.0 he decided to make the mod from scratch and as you can see this attempt was more successfull.

Now this mod, despite all the problems that still exist in the leak engine, is out and everyone can walk through the legendary ship in a company of Odell.

Open the directory where you have the beta installed [Where the .exe is] and put the folder from the archive into it [NOT THE "hl2" FOLDER!]. After that open the Mod Launcher and select it from the drop-down menu and hit play.

Do you have the originall unpatched anon leak or the Mega Build? If you have the unpatched originall you will have to download the Mega Build as it is required for the mod to even run. Afther that follow the instructions in my previous post.

If you have LeakNet installed check "Player model" setting in Options=>Multiplayer.
One of them cause crashes, police.mdl, if I remember right. Choose player.mdl (Gordon) instead.

I have the Mega Patch 4.1 and LeakNet 5772 installed on a fresh copy of the anon leak. Is there any difference between the Mega Build and anon hl2 with Mega Patch and Leaknet? I have tried launching borealis mod with every player model available, it crashed every time.

2Spookycat: in LeakNet's modlauncher under the "Start" button type '-condebug', then in game type developer 3 in console, and press New Game.
After game crashes take console.log file in mod's folder and upload it here. I'll try to figure what makes game crash.
